INGREDIENTS:

3 cups all purpose flour

1 cup butter (2 sticks)

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup white sugar

1 cup brown sugar

4 eggs (to be added one at a time)

1 Tablespoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

GLAZE: 3/4 cup white sugar

1/3 cup butter (5 1/3 Tablespoons)

2 Tablespoons water

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 350 F / 175 C

Grease & Flour bundt pan. Mix 1 cup of butter & sugars until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mix after each one. Mix remaining dry ingredients. Alternate mixing flour mixture & buttermilk until all is combined. Pour mixture into bundt pan. Bake 60 minutes at 350F – 175C When cake is done, poke holes with a knife all over the cake. Pour glaze onto cake and allow it to cook completely. Dump out onto serving plate and serve.

Getting the ingredients together is the hardest part of making this cake, but it is totally worth it in the end. It has a fantastic flavor. It resembles a pound cake and is a great treat to have with a cup of tea or coffee. As long as one follows the ingredients and directions step by step, even a beginner can do this.
